Day 175::October 29, 2010

Stix for dinner tonight...what a treat!  I also spent time looking through wedding pictures, deciding which ones to print professionally and about an hour and a half with my sweet neighbors.  They wanted to see our wedding videos.  After we watched them, TJ pulled out he and Sally's old wedding album and we listened as they reminisced old stories.  I always enjoy our time with them.

Day 174::October 28, 2010

Happy Birthday to my brother David!

Today, David and I met for lunch near his karate class in Birmingham.  Yes, he's taking a karate class!  Haha, it's one of his electives!  I also collected our first basket of pecans!  I can't wait to try some yummy recipes with pecans this fall!

Day 173::October 27, 2010

Happy Birthday Michael Leon Carlisle!
Congratulations to Scott and Beverly, he is perfect!

Day 172::October 26, 2010

Today started off early, realizing my husband stayed up all night working on school work.  I feel like he's always doing school work so it just makes me sad when things really get busy.  I edited three of his papers first thing today.  The rest of the day was spent doing housework and laundry.  Tonight we've had some pretty severe weather as well as the surrounding counties.  Tornado watches have been issued all day and tornado warnings have been on and off for the past several hours.  I imagine we'll be fine since there hasn't been any severe weather warnings in the last hour or so.

Day 171::October 25, 2010

Today is my and Doug's two year dating anniversary.  It's crazy to think about all the changes we've been through in the last two years.  One thing I've learned about being married is you have to learn to blend your personal tastes in decor.  This lovely pumpkin belongs to Doug.  It's signed by the Smashing Pumpkins and lives in our living room.  Year round.  Today, Doug took it off it's shelf and placed it on the table deeming it our fall centerpiece.  I have to be honest here, this doesn't bother me at all.  I know some girls who might put their foot down and say no way, but I find it totally amusing and hilarious.

Day 170::October 24, 2010

We got our wedding videos in the mail!  Ryan Simmons, a college friend, was hired as our videographer.  He did a great job.  I've watched the highlights from our rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception.  I am also guilty of watching all the raw footage from two different cameras.  Watching that footage was like reliving a dream.  We are so blessed.

Day 169::October 23, 2010

Today we celebrated my brother's birthday at Oak Mountain State Park.  We had a great time with a picnic, short hike, and even a spur of the moment geocache find.

Picnic by the lake

Doug was excited about the cache!  Haha, can you tell?

Day 168::October 22, 2010

I'm so proud of my cake!  I hope my brother likes it!  It's butter cake with chocolate buttercream icing and chocolate ganache- all made by scratch!  No boxes or mixes here my friends.  :)

We also went to Doug's alma mater for their homecoming game!  They won and it was a sentimental game because it was the last one in this stadium.  Fireworks followed the game- it was a great show and a great game!

Day 167::October 21, 2010

Today I met up with a sweet friend from Berry to go to Moss Rock Preserve.  Rachel lives across the country but was in town after Amanda's wedding.  We took our dogs along with us and they had a great time together as well.  Delia loves exploring and did a great job on the trail with Buddy.  Buddy knew what he was doing so she seemed to stick close to him.  :)

Day 166::October 20, 2010

This October, instead of having the youth meet at church on Wednesday nights, we've had CRIBS.  CRIBS is an in home bible study.  Doug and I are with the juniors and seniors at the Jasper's house.  They were so kind to open up their home to us.  Last Wednesday, Julie asked me if I thought a kitty litter cake would be too gross to make for us.  Not really being able to picture it, I whole-heartedly urged her to make one.  Well, she did!

Yes, this is CAKE.  Chocolate and vanilla cakes, crumbled with vanilla cookies and a bit of green food coloring over chocolate pudding.   And that's right, melted tootsie rolls.  I think you know what those are for.  :)

Julie Jasper, you are my hero!  Haha!

Day 165::October 19, 2010

Today I honestly didn't do to much.  I slept in and relaxed from our trip to Florida.  Doug has been so nice and has been helping around the house.  He took me out to dinner and it was great to just catch up and have some quality time together.

Picture to come.

Day 164::October 18, 2010

Happy Birthday Mom!  I enjoyed the morning in Atlanta and met my mom for a birthday lunch at Firehouse Subs.  As much as I loved my trip to Georgia and Florida, I was really excited to be home with my sweet husband.

Pardon the terribly dirty windshield!

Day 163::October 17, 2010

After the wedding, my mom and I drove to my grandfather's house in Sarasota.  It's been years since I was at their house, but as soon as I walked in I remembered the scent.  It smelled exactly the same!  It's a smell that I really like and makes me think of their house.  They have some pretty cool plants in their yard so my pictures for today are of their yard!

One of their banana trees!

Oranges!

Happy Birthday baby Caden!  Tara and Britton, I am so proud of you.  Now lets see some pictures!  :)

Day 162::October 16, 2010

Beautiful wedding.  Gorgeous bride.  Really happy couple.  :)

The morning started off relaxing with a trip to Starbucks before getting our hair and makeup done.

Berry friends!

 Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Winstead!

Day 161::October 15, 2010

Let the wedding festivities begin!

The Bride, at her bridal luncheon!

The beautiful Royal Tea Room

I love this picture!

After an afternoon of prepping favors, we had rehearsal at Amanda and Ben's church

Rehearsal dinner dessert- yum!!

The rehearsal dinner was at the Columbia Restaurant.  This was a special place for me because we used to have Thanksgiving dinner here (St. Augustine location) when I was younger!

Day 160::October 14, 2010

Drove to Tampa today for Amanda and Ben's wedding!  Let's just say, driving consumed the day.  Doug and I both had an early start- he left the house at 4:30 and I was out the door and on my way to Atlanta by 5:15  Regardless of hours in the car, watching Amanda marry the love of her life will be worth every minute of it.

Day 156::October 10, 2010

We had our Pumpkin Carving Party today!  The Lord blessed us with perfect weather and a great crowd.  There were several first time pumpkin carvers here as well!  Here are a few of the pictures from today.  It was also Pink Day at church for Breast Cancer awareness month.  I got a picture of the choir to share with yall.  Towards the end was Delia's entertainment for the evening.  She became a total destroyer of all things newspaper and seems quite proud of herself.  You'll see what I mean.  :)

Day 155::October 9, 2010

Another awesome day today, and I couldn't be more thankful.  Today Doug and I drove down to Oak Mountain and enjoyed a picnic with friends out by the lake.  For dinner Doug and I went to Chick-fil-A since I've been wanting to go there for about two weeks now.  Gotta love the new spicy chicken sandwich!
